HEEL OF HEARTS
The Heel of Hearts shoes have a reinforced arch. This teqnique allows me to choose multiple attachment positions for the heel, without having to give in on support. With the balance in the right place, the shoes can be worn as any other high heeled shoes.
VICKEY
The key-shaped heels are made from cast bronze.
First the original heel was made. Then a silicone mold was created to replicate two wax versions. These wax heels were then covered in plaster and put in an oven to melt out the wax. The remaining hollow spaces in the plaster were then filled with bronze.
An interesting detail in the design is that both keys fit perfectly in the keyholes in the plateau.
